Bruce has represented Canada internationally since 1994, competing at two Olympic Games, two World Championships and two Pan American Games.

Bruce has had extensive dressage training producing dressage horses up to the Prix St. George level. He competed at Prix St. George 1985-1989 and again in 1998, qualified for the finals of the CDI Tour, World Championships 1986 and was Canadian Basic Dressage Champion 1992.

Bruce’s dressage background has been influenced and guided by Christolot Boylen, Martin Plewa, Dietric van Hoffgarten, Nancy MacLachlan and Gina Smith, Cindy Syndor and John MacPherson.
